Welcome to AI EastMidlands

About Us

Welcome to AI EastMidlands, a collaborative initiative between leading universities in the East Midlands region to advance the field of artificial intelligence.

NEW***: Our outline bid for the UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training in " SocialPrescribing and Personalised Care" has been successful and is advancing to the full proposal stage. At this stage, we are seeking support from a range of partners, including Industrial Partners, technology/AI solution providers, End-User organisations, Healthcare Providers, Social Prescribing and Social Care organisations, AI specialists, charities, Policy Makers, and others, to help us co-design and co-develop AI-empowered Personalised Care solutions for Social Prescribing delivery Our team, consisting of researchers from five leading universities in the East Midlands, namely the Nottingham Trent University (CDT lead), University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, University of Leicester, University of Derby, will work with co-sponsoring problem owners to leverage our existing AI capacity and create solutions that can address national priorities and alleviate the strain on the NHS. To achieve this, we have designed a unique VentureBuilding training programme that will take each project from concept to MVP, which will be launched and tested through our co-sponsoring organisations.

Please send me a message or email at eiman.kanjo@ntu.ac.uk if interested in a partnership.

Our Aim

Taking advantage of AI, we are building a consortium representing East Midland universities to act as AI/data science workforce “AI in the East Midlands” that can respond to funding calls and enhance research and innovation ecosystems in the East Midland region.

Impact

Our plan is to organize a series of workshops rotating among East Midlands universities to bring everyone around the table, started with a kick-off event on 20th of September at Nottingham Trent University (Led by Eiman).

How?

Various East midlands universities have a collection of excellent academics in AI, and a significant impact in the region. This is an “invite” only event for East Midland universities (NTU, Nottingham, Loughborough, Leicester, Derby, DMU and Lincoln) as well as other organisations such as EPSRC East Midland, BBSRC, DASA, Alan Turing Institute, local networks, Local LEPs, Midland Engine, East Midland Innovation, Councils, local NHS representations, and other key public and private organizations.
